Hello there, folks!

I know it's been a long time coming since I've done anything with or to the semi-official website, including simply viewing it. Well, sorry for the inconvenience, but I've had my hands full of many other things, and some of them have been pretty lousy, if I could use one word in describing them.

You don't have to fret over this, however, because I'm finally here to catch you all up on the latest news regarding the novel series this website represents. Whether you like it or not; whether you care or not, here's what's happening (And going to happen) with Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers...

I: Yesh, the final part of series will be published, but not this year! And maybe not even next year (2022). Although, the chances of Sky Fighters Part VIII being published in 2022 is a very real possibility. This novel will be the longest work I've ever been able to write, and will be close to or possibly over 500 pages when it's finally ready for the final proofreading stage, followed by the copyrighting stage. And while I can't mention any specific details of this particular work, I will mention one thing: At the end of parts VI and VII, you, our audience, was left with two cliffhangers in a row...Ouch! Cliffhangers can act as a double-edged sword. On one hand, they add suspense to a story, which keeps readers engaged. But on the other foot, some readers might lose interest if there are to many cliffhangers in a row. And I'm known for stacking up such endings. But you don't have to worry, because I can promise you those 2 cliffhangers WILL be resolved in Part VIII.

II: This brings me to mention another project I've been working on, since around 2019. This project, which will be directly related to my novel series will act as an anthology of 3 short stories. Each one takes place on a certain day of a certain year, and will be shown through the eyes of a different character. One of them will offer a brief glimpse into the near-future lives of some Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers. As with Part VIII, no further details of this project can be revealed. However, this trilogy of short stories will almost certainly be published in time for my next upcoming birthday, on January 29th! In presenting you, my audience with an additional story to immerse yourselves in, I hope to ease the suspenseful tension brought on by all of you having to wait for Sky Fighters Part VIII's eventual release.

III: Seeing as how I already have a dedicated blog-site, which is also directly tied in with my newer author page, I would like to inform you all which blogs like this posted here, on Weebly will inevitably become fewer and fewer. Thus, if anyone who still visits this website is eager for the latest news and updates related to my on-going novel series, then I encourage all of you to visit either my newer blog at: sky-fighters.blogspot.com/ ...The FB page you're likely already familiar with, at: www.facebook.com/theskyfighters/ ...Or, better yet, my newer author page, which was kindly provided to me by: www.goodreads.com/author/show/8405438.Ross_Eberle ...An Amazon affiliate. On this latter website, you'll not only be able to view later entries on my more active blog, but you'll also be able to view and purchase every book I've written to this date. And this is one thing which Weebly simply does not offer in their limited storefront sub-page.

I'm sorry if this turned out to be a TL;DR post, but focus your eyes on the pages I've listed above in order to benefit from catching the latest happenings for everything Sky Fighters!

Keep on reading, because I intend to keep on writing!

A cry on deaf ears?

Hi there, audience.

Ross, author of the Sky Fighters novels here. Over the last 5 years, I have been writing, copyrighting, and publishing all these novels...One right after the other. I've been creating blog posts, like this one, videos, photos, concept art, and more. I even entered (And won) a competitive writing prompt contest on a Discord Server called Storyville! After all this, you'd think I'd be feeling pretty accomplished...Right?

Well, you are dead wrong, my friends! As I discovered Create-Space after my unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, I thought for sure I struck pure platinum. Not silver. Not even gold...Pure platinum. Quickly, I submitted my first novel to Create-Space for publishing. And before I knew it, my first novel had officially been published! Well...It was only self-published. Yesh, there is a difference.

What, you say? You mean to tell me getting a novel self-published isn't going to help me gain an audience!? Then, by Jove! What will? As I asked myself this, I thought: "Hmm! Perhaps I ought to do more social-networking. The question is...How?" Then FB provided me an answer: "Give us money and we'll grant at least a few more likes to your page!" And so, I did. And over time, Sky Fighters gained an audience...A small audience. But at least it amounted to something...Right? I mean, in 2017, I had 5 novels published!

Oh, me of little faith. Or should I say 'little success'? As of today (October 14th, 2019), I have 6 novels published. And I've been tirelessly writing Part 7, which is slated to be published next year...Sometime. Don't ask me when yet, because I don't have the foggiest idea. All I know is this: In spite of all the writing, copyrighting, and publishing I've done, only two handfuls of my novels have been purchased. And at least 85% to 90% of those have been purchased by members of my family...Namely my loving Mom.

So, let me ask you this: Do you think I should continue writing and publishing novels? If I do, will anyone even bother to purchase any of them? If at least 5 people purchase at least one of my novels by the time Sky Fighters Part 8 has been published, then I can guarantee there'll be a 9th novel. But it'll be more of a spin-off than a continuation of the series. It'll also have a different format. Well, then? Let's hear your answers!
Yes, give us the whole series!
Nah. Take me to the kittens!

Introducing Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers!!

Our series now has a new title: 'Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers'. As a token of appreciation to nature, animals, the wilderness, and our adoring fans, we have decided upon a slight, but notable change, as mentioned above. This change is reflected on our first novella, but applies to the series as a whole. On a side-note, we have only three chapters to write before the final preparations of Part VI of our series hits the bookshelves...Be ready for when this happens, audience...Ta-Ta!

New Title; same awesome series!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s been more than a year since I've posted a blog right here on our semi-official website. But we have only just reached a crucial, critical moment within the novella series...The 6th Novella is just over 3 chapters away from being ready for publishing!

But before this happens, it'll need to be proof-read. And while this is going on, we have a rather pleasant surprise...The previous 5 novellas will undergo a few simple, but significant changes. One of them will be published under a slightly-new title, but none of the settings, characters, plots, or techniques will be altered in any way. However, in 3 of the already-published 5 books, we'll be including a little something special to give our fans a slight visual to go along with all the dialogue, as well as the narrative. No, we won’t say what it is just yet! ;-)

But what we CAN tell you is this: Our 6th novella will probably be published in either mid-to-late May or early-to-mid June. The new versions of the previous 5 novellas will be re-printed and published in early-to-mid March. Until then, stay tuned, audience!...

Sky Fighters Part V in stores now!!

At long last! Our customers can finally purchase copies of our 5th Novella. This novella is a beautifully well-crafted gift and recommended reading, as it is the next part of a great sci-fi/modern adventure series. It has the same characters from the other novellas as well as new characters found on Earth and Evensongland, both of which feature many trees and mountains. It continues the story of the two teenage boys, now in their late teens, whose fates are mysteriously intertwined. In addition to this, they begin to see something ominous happening...

Finally! A new version of the first novella!

Hi there, audience!

It has been over 3 years or almost 3 years running since the first novella was published. Wow! Our series has come a long way. But on viewing all my notes and works, I took notice of something: In 2015, I had made a few edits to my first novella without making those changes live on Create-Space! This would never do.

So, I reviewed my changes, made several more edits, then went onto my publishing site, and re-submitted my first novella onto there. As always, we'll need roughly 5 days for the changes to take effect on Amazon and elsewhere. But once this happens, we'll be sure to tell everyone.

And before I wrap this post up, I'd like to point out I have changed the cover of the first novella to closer reflect the Element of Earth. Of course, my older version of the first novella will still be in the hands of those who already purchased it. But keep an eye out for the new version, the cover of which is below...

We've arrived at a crossroads!

Good morning, audience!

We all appreciate your support of our series thus far. But now, it seems we've arrived at a crossroads. What does this mean for you? Simply put, we have a decision to make! We have been considering more than 8 novellas for a while now. If this idea sees enough people vote in favor of it, we'll start by writing and subsequently publishing "Chronicles of the Sky Fighters". On this note, we'd like your feedback on what we should focus on writing next in the series. We'd also like to know how far you'd like to see the series go. So, here is a poll!

Lack of a chapter list? How come?

7/25/2017

Greetings, audience!

Well, somehow, this blog turned out blank! What in the world? Anyway, let me clarify the reason we don't include a chapter list in any of our novellas or novels...

Reason #1: Some of them could offset a reader. What does this mean? Let me show you an instance of one such chapter list in my newest all-time favorite novel I recently read...

Chapter 1: A Death at the Needle
Chapter 2: An Explosion for Christmas
Chapter 3: Imprisoned with My Cat
Chapter 4: Kidnapped by a Not-So-Stranger
Chapter 5: We Meet the Monkey
Chapter 6: Breakfast with a Crocodile
Chapter 7: I Drop a Little Man on His Head
Chapter 8: Muffin Plays with Knives
Chapter 9: We Run from Four Guys in Skirts
Chapter 10: Bast Goes Green

...In case you don't see my point, having a chapter list might encourage the reader to skip ahead in a novel which is intended to be read in order...Chronological order, this is. If I weren't so darn patient, I'd have half a mind to skip ahead while wondering things like: What explosion? Who's Muffin? Which guys?

Reason #2: Having a chapter list might not only have a way of spoiling an otherwise intriguing story for a reader, but it also might seem a little off-putting to some readers. How can this be, you ask? Let me ask you something: Would you be more likely to read a book in which one of the chapters is called "We Meet the Monkey" or "When Fruit Bats Go Bad"? Or would you be far more inclined to read a novel where you discover a chapter called "Rio's Rage" or "Battle On Thornheart Mountain"? Or "Sky Fighter Phobia"?

If you still don't have an answer to these questions and statements, then I'll gladly give you an opportunity to select one. So...Would you like to see future editions of the Sky Fighters Novels, which would include a chapter list before or after the novel takes place? Let me know down below...Cheers!
Yes! I wanna know what happens!
No! Keep them the way they are!

Hiyo! It's been quite some time since the previous blog, however, I am VERY glad to say the fourth novella has been published at long last! My fourth novella can be bought on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Sky-Fighters-Part-IV-Encounters/dp/1542567904/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484680462&sr=8-1&keywords=sky+fighters+part+iv and on Create-Space here: https://www.createspace.com/6864201 . The Sky Fighters Official Shop on the web site has been updated accordingly as well. This novella will be ready on Kindle within a couple days. Cheers! And once again, thanks to my adoring fans, my Mom, and Brother-In-Heaven, Diego Ramires. This project would not have been possible without any of you, so thanks! You fine folks rock!!
